Finally Robotics and Happy!!

When you do something new and after working over it seriously and at last when you get the desired result, the feeling that we get is really very nice to feel. Well, I am talking about the Robotics System that me and my group builded in my summer training.
I am a student of Electronics Engineering but I have not been to any Robotics workshop yet. It is not that I am not interested but whenever I think of participating in any workshop, somehow some obstacles comes out and I end up not participating. This time for summer training I opted for training in Embbedded Systems and Applications in a firm called Brigosha Technologies. At the end of the training, groups were made and each group had to do one project. Fotunately or unfortunately that I will come to know at the end of our project, I was made the leader of the group. Our group decided for making a Wirelessly Controlled Robo with Direction And Speed Control. We named our group RoboSix(suggested by me) as we had 6 members.
So yesterday was the first day of our project and we built the Robo, made the circuit connections and the coding was done for direction control everything went smoothly. But today we had to include the speed controls in the code. We included the new sections of code but we were not getting the corresponding output because of a silly mistake of overlooking. After torturing our brains out for some time, first we came to know that instead of flashing the new program into the microcontroller, we flashed the program of yesterday. How on earth could we get new results. When we flashed the correct program then also we faced a new problem. Forget about speed control, our motor would run only for some fractions of second and would stop. Then again realized that we need to enclose some of the statements inside loops. Then after correcting those statements, it worked as we wanted. But the maximum RPMs of the two motors were not the same, so even if we drive forward it would turn slightly to the left. But that was not the major problem. It only needs replacement of one of the motors or we could have some adjustments in the calibrating the speeds of the motors. What was required to be completely correct and in working conditions was the connections and the coding and that we had done.
So our project was complete. And after getting our robo running correctly, a different feeling grew inside me. And that was the feeling of accomplishment, the feeling of fulfillment. I had thought of doing Robotics workshop a lot of time and missed all the workshops but after three long years of Engineering life, I got the opportunity to do Robotics in a Embedded-System training session. This actually added to my feelings of pleasure. This was actually a better experience compared to if I had done robotics in a Robotics workshop. Because in a Robotics workshop, they will teach you how to make a robo and tell you the in and outs of robotics. But here, in my case, we were not provided training about robotics. Instead we had to assemble and employ our knowledge about microcontroller, motor control and wireless communication(which were parts of our training syllabus) to build and run the Robo.
Its a beautiful experience. And so I could not stop myself from sharing this experience in my blog.

Khiriki bur Bhanga

Just a thought... Just a re-evaluation of my mind...
Listening to the song(assamese) "khiriki bur bhanga" and getting inspired. Listening it again and again and trying to get deeper and deeper understanding of the lyrics. I've always believed about the invincibility of human mind. Always been sure that i can overcome any challenge, any situation, any hardship in my life. I've never feared about anything relating to life matters.  But I was concentrating only on the extreme situations, the big ones which would actually occur rarely. I was missing on the simple, small, day to day challenges of life by which I surely am getting defeated by those. I didn't co-related the concept of invincibility with the day to day challenges. This song "khiriki bur bhanga", I got through the lyrics of it today and it kind of making me realize about the need of breaking out of the shell, to enjoy life which always have been my motto of life. I knew my destination which is to be happy with life, didn't know the way towards it. Well we need to open up, try everything we can to make us happy, express our desires and work to achieve them without worrying whether success is possible or not, without waiting for the road-to-success to be made easy by 'time'. Well, the 'Zingalala' ad of Tata Sky says na, "Poochne Mein Kya Jaata Hai", Royal Stag says, "Make it large". I'm happy with my life. but today I want to add one more aspect to perceiving happiness. Earlier I  "tried to be happy" but now "I'll try and then be happy".
Just one line coming to my mind right now.
"Conquer your mind, Conquer happiness, Conquer Life."

Lost My Cat

I am emotionally devastated today. The reason might be ridiculous to some people but it is not and only someone gone through this type incidents can only realize it. Well, we had a pair of kittens in our house. They were born in our house only. Their mother used to come to our house and I used to pamper her a lot. She gave gave birth to these kitties and after they grew up to an age when they feed themselves, the mother stopped coming to our. Initially occasionally  she used to come, and then after one day completely stopped coming. later I got to know that one girl of our neighbour beat her and she was pregnant then, so there is the chance that she be dead also. But also heard that she is in one another of our neighbour's house. She might not be coming to our house because of the security of her new kittens also. So there's a mixed chances of how and where she is. So i don't have any deep remorse and also her kittens has also not given the opportunity to miss her that much.
Coming to the kittens, actually three kittens were born and one of them died within about one month of its birth. Among the remaining two, one was little more white and the other one had more black patches. Both of them had different nature. Only through them in life, I got to learn that animals also have individual natures like humans. The white one had a very laidback type of persona and was more friendly to people. He would even jump to stranger's lap also sometimes. So he was little more adorable and he also looked more cuter than the black one. The black one on the other hand was energetic and active. He would keeep roaming here and there but the white on e would mostly sleep and rest. In case of food also, the white one woulld not hurry to get it. He had the "i don't care" type of attitude. On the contrary the black one would rush down if anything was given them to eat. Although they had different personalities, both would stay together at night. They would play with each other, sometimes cuddle each other. It was really  a delight viewing their activities.
Three days ago, the white one went missing. Well they, the kiitens used to go one of the nearby houses and they were loved and feed well also in that house, i know. That may also be the reason and since he was kind of laidback, he might have stayed there. Since i believe he was good enough to protect himself from any predator animals, I can't think of him being dead. So the only other option is that he was taken away by some people to keep as pet and that won't upset me, coz he will be happy there.
But what happened today with the black one literally broke me down. This is the reason for which I'm so sad now. Well, today my father took him to Hamren(his workplace) in our car. On the way, in Nellie my father got down to have lunch in a hotel and took the kitten also to feed something. But it was not a good decision since the place was new to the kitten. A dog came near and he ran away in fear. My father could not find him and atlast went off without him. I got to know it in the evening and i'm really pissed of by the news. Well what really is concerning me is that he has lived with the comfort of our house, the love and pampering of us, assurity of getting something to eat, and all of a sudden everything is lost. He really must be very lonely and helpless now. Just thinking about his plight has brought tears in my eyes. God knows how severely he must be suffering, all alone in a new place very much foreign to him. I doubt whether he has got anything to eat or not. And because he(both the kitens and their mother also was) was very choosy about foods, this concern is killing me. I also fear about people's atrocities towards animals particularly cats. There is superstitions that cats are not good or they are ungrateful, or they curse who feed them, and our society is filled with superstitious people. Even if he has managed to get something to fill his stomach, how lonely he must be feeling. He must be missing us or atleast our house a lot. The weather is also very cold today. I'm afraid he has got anything comfortable or not to sleep.  I pray to God, please give him the courage and strength to cope up with situation, help him find the daily bread and shelter and bless him with love from humans and protection against other animals.
